I had mixed feelings about Andrew Lockwood, but I’ve come to see him in a new light.
First off, I’m genuinely pleased that Andrew took the initiative to reach out and offer a thorough explanation of the situation. If you’ve read my earlier posts, you’ll know I had some serious concerns about The City Traders. What surprised me was the unexpected side of Andrew I encountered; he’s got a wealth of experience in trading and, in my opinion, he excels at teaching others. Right from the start, he gained my trust, although we had never directly communicated before. His YouTube videos really gave me insight into his character.
I purchased two challenges from The City Traders simply because of Andrew’s involvement. I chose this path instead of FTMO, based purely on the trust I developed in him. But then, I noticed changes that raised some red flags. I didn’t want to directly blame Andrew; I was holding out hope for improvements. Just when I was starting to feel disheartened, and after several posts on Trustpilot, Andrew reached out for a conversation. It turned out he wasn’t responsible for the downturn; it seems he was exploring something new in the prop trading space, which didn’t pan out as he had intended.
In my opinion, Andrew truly shines in his teaching abilities. Regardless, I appreciated how he handled the situation with me—always respectful and dignified. I’m glad to affirm that my initial positive impression of him was correct. He deserves respect because, unlike many in the industry, he stepped forward, clarified his side, and worked to make things right. If he has future offerings that catch my interest, I would definitely consider doing business with him again, without a doubt. His honesty and goodwill really stood out to me.
I plan to remove my previous negative posts, though perhaps not right away, to demonstrate that Andrew successfully turned a negative experience into a positive one. That’s no small feat. If anyone wants to know why I’ve revised my opinion, don’t hesitate to reach out. It’s crucial to hold people accountable for their mistakes—there’s no shortage of those who let others down—but it’s equally important to recognize those who act honorably and deserve our trust and respect.

Regrettably, my experience with the proprietary trading firm, http://www.thecitytraders.com, has left me feeling quite disappointed.
To keep it concise, I initially failed my first assessment due to a claimed drawdown violation. Despite believing it was an error, I accepted their explanation and paid for a second assessment.
I managed to pass this time and even began to see some profits on my £15,000 account. Things were looking up until I received a notification that I had been stopped out of a winning trade.
I typically employ broad stop-losses to mitigate whipsaw effects, and this particular trade had every indication of success. Yet, I was exited from the position right down to the very pip—actually, it was more like the fraction of a pip. I reached out to their support for clarification, but the answer took days and, frankly, it left me unsatisfied.
To add to my frustrations, I noticed that the Discord chat with other traders had vanished entirely, along with the daily webinars. It became clear I should withdraw my earnings, which weren’t substantial, and I submitted a payment request. Unfortunately, I have heard nothing since then.
This situation is especially disappointing considering that this proprietary firm was founded by Andrew Lockwood, a former City Trader known for his educational videos on YouTube during his time with Forex Signals and The City Traders. He seemed authentic, with a solid track record in the London trading pits. It really illustrates how unpredictable this industry can be!
A final concerning note is that http://www.citytraders.com remains operational and continues to attract new members.
*** UPDATE – January 2, 2025 ***
Yesterday, I followed the suggestion made by The City Traders in their comment below and tried to reach out to the provided email address. Unfortunately, it bounced back as non-existent. I then attempted to contact support@thecitytraders.com, and as of now, I still haven’t received a response. I’m waiting for further updates. Stay tuned.

This firm seems to be taking advantage of its clients, as I’ve noticed they don’t respond to inquiries or concerns. It feels like they might be on the verge of disappearing, yet they keep their website active to continue collecting funds from unsuspecting individuals. I’m planning to report this situation to the authorities. If more people take similar action, we may have a better chance of getting the website shut down for good.

Despite the firm going under, their website remains active. It’s crucial that you avoid purchasing any challenges, as you’ll likely just end up losing your money. There really should be regulations put in place for these proprietary trading firms, as many seem to operate with questionable integrity.

It appears that Andrew Lockwood and The City Traders have effectively vanished. I’ve reached out multiple times for clarification, but there’s been no response whatsoever. One can only conclude that Mr. Lockwood and his associates might have bolted with investors’ funds. It’s quite alarming, to say the least.
***UPDATE – Like many others, I’ve flooded their inboxes at info@ and support@, yet, I’ve received zero replies. I’m sorry to say, but any prior positive reputation you had is now in shambles. Even TrustPilot is now issuing warnings to potential users. What a total disaster.
