I’m giving just one star for my experience with Apex. I had a total of 11 PA accounts that were wiped out due to a confirmed Rithmic outage. Strangely, only one of those accounts was considered eligible for restoration, even though they all executed the same trades during the outage and suffered the same losses. It seems reasonable to expect that all 11 accounts should have been restored, not just one. I believe Apex is a good company overall, and I plan to continue using their services, but I do feel that a thorough review of this situation is warranted.

Once upon a time, Apex was an exceptional futures prop firm, known for its integrity. However, after four years of partnership, I’ve decided to part ways.

In recent weeks, users have encountered multiple issues with Apex’s servers. Apex often attributes these problems to their server provider, Rithmic. However, what’s puzzling is that other online proprietary trading firms utilizing Rithmic’s simulated data, such as Topstep, Bulenox, and Blusky, have not reported similar difficulties. Frequently, the company resets accounts in response to server issues, but only after a significant number of complaints emerge. If not enough customers speak up, they seem to neglect feedback, with customer service insisting that traders bear responsibility, even when clear evidence is presented.
Despite several so-called fixes, problems remain persistent. For instance, on June 14, 2024, trade execution was still notably sluggish, making it impossible at times to cancel or flatten orders. This led to substantial losses and, ultimately, the forfeiture of accounts. Unfortunately, since only a handful of customers raised complaints until the Discord channel was once more silenced and most dissenters were banned, no acknowledgment of these persistent issues has been forthcoming.
Apex’s characterization of their clients as “contractors” is rather misleading, as the reality is that Apex profits from the financial setbacks of these so-called contractors. They establish the rules and handle payouts from their own funds, positioning themselves as the house. Profits typically don’t stem from market activity but may occur later on, once a trader achieves certain payout thresholds that Apex uses as a basis for copy trading successful traders. This setup suggests their priority lies not in the success of their contractors, but in encouraging them to purchase multiple accounts and fail repeatedly. The frequent promotions and discounts they offer foster a gambling mentality. If this approach continues, it’s likely that Apex will attract the scrutiny of regulatory bodies, much like online casinos have.

I recently went through a 250k evaluation with Apex and successfully passed the challenge, which led to receiving my proprietary account. I started trading and it all seemed good for the first nine days. However, on the 10th day, things took a turn. The company began experiencing significant issues with both Rithmic and Tradovate. That day, I faced a major problem with Tradovate, involving ghost orders and delayed trades that ultimately impacted my account. I had built up a positive balance of around $20,000, but unfortunately, I saw it all wiped out and my account closed by Apex on that very day. To make matters worse, the support team was unresponsive to my support tickets. Additionally, the moderators on Discord weren’t very helpful; they even disabled the chat while everyone tried to communicate the issues they were facing.

The customer service experience at Apex was quite disappointing. I attempted to reach out multiple times but never actually connected with a live representative. Each time, I was directed to create a support ticket. So, on Thursday morning, 6/13, I submitted a ticket to address the problem I was facing with adding or scaling contracts to my position. Unfortunately, I received no response via email. This led me to share my experience in a review here. It wasn’t until after 4 PM on Friday that I finally got a message from Apex, stating, “There was a risk management system error on the platform’s part; this has been resolved.” I couldn’t help but wonder if this was a widespread issue or if it only affected my account. If it was indeed a system-wide problem, they should have notified all customers or at least posted an announcement on their website to inform everyone of the issue.

I’m Valentina, and I want to share my experience with APEX. After investing over €3,000 in their evaluation programs to test my trading systems, I was asked to verify my identity. I completed the verification process, but it was rejected. I offered to undergo the verification again, yet it was declined once more without any explanation. For an entire week, I’ve been locked out of my account and unable to stop the monthly renewals. On top of that, I can’t sign off on the evaluations I successfully passed.
In contrast, my experience with FTMO was like night and day. APEX lacks professionalism; it’s unacceptable to treat customers so poorly. Tomorrow, I plan to report this issue to the police and will work to block any unauthorized charges with my bank. If they don’t want me as a customer, they need to refund my money immediately. Now they are demanding videos of my trades and various other requirements, seemingly just to stall me and make it harder to stop the automatic renewals. Be cautious—APEX can be quite risky, and their customer service takes over 24 hours to respond with generic emails. It has truly been a distressing experience.
In reply to their claims, I’ve already contacted the authorities. We’ll see who adheres to the law and who doesn’t! You have deceived me and unjustly restricted my account access while clearly still wanting to keep my money. Thieves!
