ATF has been an excellent experience so far! I have been trading with Apex for several months, and I couldn’t be happier. Their customer service is outstanding; they are quick to respond and provide detailed explanations, complete with screenshots, if any issues arise. There was even a time when I accidentally closed my account through Tradovate. However, when I brought this to their attention, they promptly investigated the matter and reinstated my entire account, which was fantastic. Currently, I am trading on Evals and hoping to pass it soon!

The trailing stop loss system implemented by the firm is, quite frankly, one of the most frustrating features I’ve encountered. It seems to be disproportionately beneficial for scalpers, which doesn’t align with my trading style. I’ve experienced numerous instances where my position was in profit, only for me to be liquidated when the price retraced—often just to my entry point. It’s beyond infuriating. I can’t possibly monitor the charts every single second; that’s precisely why I utilize a stop loss. Being liquidated while still in profit due to this trailing stop loss is frankly absurd. ATF has a lot to improve on.

Beware! It’s best to steer clear of this firm. Apex, led by Darrell, is attempting to revamp its platform and is seeking beta testers. However, if you don’t shell out money for their services, you essentially become the product. They want users to get acquainted with the platform first, feel comfortable, and then start handing over cash. Their trailing drawdown system is, frankly, a setup for failure. For instance, if you begin with a $3,000 buffer and enter a trade that sees a $2,000 gain, only to later see a drop back to break-even, your trailing drawdown now reduces your buffer to just $1,000. As a suggestion, choose a prop firm where trailing drawdowns are calculated at the end of the day. In that case, you’d remain at break-even the next day, maintaining your full buffer of $3,000.
Darrell seems keen to attract traders with low-priced challenges, coaxing the majority of retail traders into giving away their hard-earned cash. Consider firms like Topstep, which are far more accommodating to the retail trader. Personally, as someone who’s struggled with trading, I’d much prefer to limit myself to one or two accounts a month, using a small fee—perhaps $10 or $20—as a gift for friends or family. That feels far more fulfilling than lining the pockets of someone like Darrell.
Imagine chatting with a friend while waiting for coffee or drinks and saying, “I’ve got this.” Or buying a small gift for a child, like a $10 toy—what a joyful surprise that would be! Or consider treating a loved one to something special like bath beads. You get the idea.
What I’m really trying to say is, invest your time in learning to trade, but don’t waste your money on “prop firms” run by folks like Darrell at Apex. Take a moment to actually read their terms and conditions.

This is by far the worst firm I’ve ever dealt with. They completely banned me, claiming I initiated a chargeback on my card, something I absolutely did not do. I even reached out to my bank and have proof to back up my claims. Despite this, they refuse to even consider my evidence. To make matters worse, I had payouts scheduled for my sixth trading day. Overall, it’s been a frustrating experience and I would not recommend this firm to anyone.
