The intraday trailing drawdown can be quite frustrating. I once made $3,000 in a single day, only to lose my account because a trade surged and I didn’t lock in my maximum profit.
If Apex switched to an end-of-day drawdown system, they would definitely take the top spot over Topstep as my preferred prop firm. For now, though, they hold steady in second place.

I appreciate many of the features offered by the firm. However, the most frustrating aspect for me is definitely the trailing drawdown. I wish there was a specific threshold that would allow for a trail loss exceeding $4,000 to be cleared more easily. It often feels like a tricky situation; for instance, OneUp Trading allows you to clear your $5,000 drawdown, but after that, you have to recover all the way back to $150 before facing any potential account closure. This doesn’t seem fair and can be quite stressful.
