I’ve had quite a varied experience with Arctic Funding.
Rather than simply complain, I want to share some insights that I feel Arctic Funding should make more clear on their website.
To begin with, if you decide to take on a stock challenge (like I did), steer clear of the Trade Locker – it has a very limited selection of stocks. Also, be aware that they apply a default leverage of 1:10 to your account, and this can’t be adjusted. If you’re considering swing trading or position trading, you might find this prop firm less than ideal—unless you’re okay with sacrificing some sleep. That said, once you figure out how to make it work for you, achieving a 120% return (thanks to leverage) can be quite rewarding. One thing to keep in mind is that only days where you gain over 0.5% of your account balance count as trading days. In addition, I was caught off guard earlier today when I discovered I can’t invest in ETFs anymore—this was permitted just a few days back. It’s disappointing, especially since I had some trades in mind during the elections.
On a positive note, Tahir from customer service is quite responsive.
I’m optimistic about passing my challenge. As a side note, I’m already sitting at a 30% return, which is over the 10% needed for the first stage, so I believe I’ll hit the mark as soon as I fulfill the trading day requirements.
