I recently traded with a $5,000 Maven account, but the prop firm only matched me with a $6,000 account, which is why I went with it. My experience with Maven spans nearly three months, and while their payout system is smooth and customer service is quite responsive, I encountered some serious issues with spreads. Just today, during an Australian trade around 2 PM IST, I faced a situation where market execution caused me to lose 30% of my risk immediately. Imagine placing a trade and seeing a 30% loss without any movement in the price—it’s frustrating, to say the least. You find yourself in a position where you have to adjust your strategy on the fly.
I’ve traded with Match Trade, where I’ve noticed slightly wider spreads compared to other platforms, but nothing like what I experienced with Maven. My trades with Match Trade, instant funding platforms, and E8 Market have never subjected me to such extreme scenarios.
I get why they offer competitive pricing to attract traders, but they don’t seem to prioritize the trading experience. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this firm to traders. I’m simply not satisfied with how things have gone. I’ve dealt with both large and small account sizes at Funding Pips, ACG, TFT, and Aqua, and I’ve never faced this kind of predicament before. All in all, I’m not okay with this firm.

One of the standout features of this proprietary trading firm is its impressive customer service. Quick responses are something everyone appreciates, and they definitely deliver in this aspect. Payouts are also noteworthy; they’re accurate and processed within about 10 trading days, which is quite efficient.
Another advantage is the relatively tight spreads, making trading more cost-effective for clients. Holding meetings every Tuesday provides an excellent opportunity to connect with the CEO and the management team, allowing traders to familiarize themselves with the firm on a personal level.

Although they clearly outline their rules, I can’t help but feel that the trailing drawdown policy is more of a trap than a safeguard, especially in a market that’s unpredictable. After putting in a lot of effort, I ultimately lost my account due to trend reversals. It’s concerning that a firm would impose such rules that instill fear rather than support traders.

The firm does provide quick payouts, there’s no denying that. However, the slippage can be excessive at times. Their equity-based drawdown policy isn’t really suited for swing traders. I ended up losing my funded account because of this issue. I admit that I should have realized they use equity-based drawdowns instead of the balance-based ones I was accustomed to. After voicing my concerns about not exceeding the balance-based drawdown, I was informed about their approach. It became clear from their explanation that their system isn’t designed with swing traders in mind, which was disappointing for me.

Maven sent my payout to an incorrect wallet address without my consent. When I went to the withdrawal section, I selected crypto as my payment method and copied a wallet address. However, I encountered some issues with that address, trying multiple times with no success. Eventually, I switched to the bank transfer option, but I didn’t remove the wallet address I had entered. Although I still hadn’t submitted my withdrawal request, I proceeded to send in the payout request.
Just a few minutes later, I received an email from the company stating they had received my payout request, and it was under process. They mentioned it would take a full business day to proceed. After three days without receiving any funds in my bank account, I reached out to the support team to explain the situation. They informed me that the payment was sent to the wallet address I had added. I insisted that I hadn’t added it; I simply wrote it down without intending to use it.
The support member explained that since I hadn’t removed the wallet address, they considered it for the payment. I argued that I hadn’t requested the payout through that address and had specifically switched to bank transfer. In the end, they maintained that because I had not removed the wallet address, it became their reason for sending the payment there, despite my intention to request the payout through bank transfer. I still have not received any payment, leaving me frustrated and confused.

I’ve passed the P1 evaluation and am currently trading on P2 with this firm. Overall, it’s a solid operation, but I’ve honestly never encountered such poor spreads, execution, and slippage in the prop trading sector. The spreads are quite wide, making scalping practically impossible. For major pairs, I generally see a slippage of 1 to 2 pips, which translates to around 10 to 20 points—pretty significant! Most firms typically offer spreads ranging from 0.2 to 0.5 on the Euro, yet here they’re between 1 to 1.2. This can slowly drain your account. If you have the means to invest elsewhere, I’d suggest considering other firms. Apart from the issues with spreads and execution, everything else seems to function normally.

My transition from MT5 to Match-Trader with Marven ultimately led to a loss of my account, which was quite frustrating. I was so close to reaching my payout when this switch happened. The actual migration wasn’t the issue; rather, it was the platform we were provided with that just wasn’t up to par at that point. It was extremely slow and lagged terribly. Whenever I placed a trade, it would take around 30 seconds just to activate. The version of Match-Trader we were given was ill-equipped for convenient trading, and this unfortunately cost me my account. We voiced our concerns repeatedly, but there was no urgent response from Marven. In contrast, prior to the migration, my experience with MT5 was truly commendable and far superior.
