I initially set my stop loss at $150, but to my surprise, it didn’t trigger until I lost $400. When I raised this concern, I was informed they hadn’t detected the issue and that I’d need to submit a screen recording to back up my claim. While I can’t recall every detail, I experienced slippage on several other trades as well. After multiple email exchanges that left me feeling frustrated, I eventually decided to move on and try another combine with a different platform, hopeful that I wouldn’t face the same problems this time around.

I experienced issues with TopstepX on two separate occasions. The first time, I received a complimentary reset, but during my second encounter, it involved a funded account. The CEO went on YouTube Live, reassuring everyone not to worry and promising that everything would be resolved and that we would receive our money back. However, the customer service experience was quite the opposite. I only received generic responses and no real follow-up. It’s hard to have confidence in the TopstepX platform with this level of service!

Customer service at TopstepX has really gone downhill since the launch. What once stood out as exceptional now feels rather below average. The agents I’ve encountered tend to lack motivation and it seems they’re not very diligent in helping traders—who, after all, are their customers. Often, I get the feeling that I’m either interrupting their busy day or that they’re simply overworked.
Then there’s Windy, the AI system, which is frankly quite frustrating. It seems unable to recognize when I’m logged in. I’ll request to chat with an agent, only to be told to log in first—despite being signed in already. This redundant loop can make one wonder if leaving Topstep altogether might be the easier option. Occasionally, I’ll get lucky, and my message will reach an agent, but more often than not, the service feels more akin to what one might expect from a big box retailer rather than a trading firm that should know better. For real help, I’ve found the unofficial TopstepX Subreddit to be a better resource—no joke.
Additionally, the website often presents conflicting information. I’ve come across pages that outright contradict each other. I’ve attempted to communicate these discrepancies to Topstep, hoping to clarify things for current and potential traders, but that just leads back to the struggles I’ve mentioned in points one and two.
All in all, my experience leads me to a one-star rating. However, if you’re the type who can navigate their system without needing to interact with anyone, you might just be in luck.

Overall, my experience has been quite positive, with several aspects that stand out. The camaraderie among the team, especially with the engaging discussions led by the TV crew, adds great value. Truly, the technology behind the Dashboard and the Combine is impressive, particularly how seamlessly it transitions to new combines. However, there are a couple of areas that could use improvement.
Firstly, the charting capabilities are somewhat lacking when compared to TView; the range of indicators available feels limited, which means I end up paying extra for a more comprehensive view. That definitely warrants a deduction of one star.
Additionally, the restrictions on the $50,000 funded account can be a bit challenging. With only 20 micros or 2 minis allowed, generating income feels tougher compared to the flexibility of a combine with 50 micros. In my opinion, it would be beneficial to either increase that limit by 10 or find a middle ground. That accounts for another star deduction.
Lastly, it would be great if there were a way for funded traders to bypass the monthly combine fees if they’re not actively using it.
In conclusion, I appreciate the solid foundation and dedication to excellence, but there’s potential for enhancement. I’d rate it 3 stars for now, but it easily feels like it could be a 5 with a few tweaks!
