Max drawdown consistently remains below the profits accrued in earlier stages, which raises the question: what’s the point of trading under these conditions?
Take, for example, a situation where I invest $75 for a trading ticket. Following that, I achieve a 12% profit. The prop firm ends up pocketing $60 of that gain, leading to a total profit of $135 for them after that initial step. Moving into the second step, the risk involved is pegged at $120, which is less than the $135 profit.
In essence, the prop firm is only leveraging client funds; their own capital is never at risk. This creates an imbalance—why would anyone choose to trade with this prop firm when the benefits seem negligible?
Honestly, trading directly through a broker appears to present a far superior option.
I would be open to revising my review if I receive assurance that their models are transparent and not misleading.
And as for the term “Max Static Drawdown”? It speaks volumes about the situation—or should I say, it lacks words entirely.

A significant drawback of this platform is the complete absence of a Drawdown Detector. While they claim to send out automatic notifications, I never received any email about my account violation. Picture this: you put in the effort, believing you’ve achieved a 5% gain, only to be hit with the news that you’ve breached the drawdown rule when it’s too late. It’s incredibly frustrating and feels like a total waste of time.

### Review of BuoyTrade: From Promising Beginnings to a Questionable Future
Initially, my experience with BuoyTrade was quite positive. Payments were made promptly through Wise, and I had the opportunity to withdraw my profits before sharing my thoughts. My only concern was their relatively low leverage options, making it a bit challenging to maximize my returns. However, I was excited to see they recently introduced a new leverage of 20:1, signaling potential improvement for traders like me.
Unfortunately, everything changed with the events leading up to the 3/16 update. BuoyTrade faced significant issues with their Australian broker, 8CAP, resulting in the abrupt closure of all my open trades without any prior warning. For about a week, it seemed like they were grappling with finding a new broker, eventually settling on Utrada, which has been nothing short of disappointing. The swap rates are unappealing, and the leverage varies drastically across different instruments, making it a confusing trading environment.
What’s more troubling are the repeated instances where my “live” trades were closed with no explanation from BuoyTrade. The situation has led me to suspect that their operations may be veering into deceptive practices. To make matters worse, they are allegedly incentivizing users with payments for demo trades, raising serious questions about their integrity.
I cannot stress enough the importance of steering clear of BuoyTrade at this stage. It seems that they are engaged in activities that could likely be classified as fraudulent. I’ve seen an increase in complaints being reported to the FCA in the UK, along with other regulatory bodies. In light of my experience, I urge fellow traders to exercise caution and to avoid what I now consider an unreliable platform.
