The Gooey Trading platform often froze, making it hard to maintain consistency in my trading. In contrast, I’ve discovered the Trade Locker platform by Top Tier Trader, and it stands out as the best I’ve encountered for stability and reliability. If the issues with Gooey could be resolved, I would consider using FTG again. Additionally, I appreciate that Trade Locker operates on Eastern Time, which is advantageous since that’s my local time zone.

I’m giving this firm a solid 5 stars for their site. The platform offers an impressive spread of just 0.13, especially when compared to my broker’s 0.22 spread on the XAUUSD pair. However, I did stumble in the competition. I started trading a day late. Over my five days of active trading, I managed to rake in a 20.1% profit. On the sixth day of the eight-day competition, I even surpassed the minimum daily profit requirement. But then, on the seventh day, I left my position open without setting a stop loss as the market turned bearish, thanks to a broken support level. My position seemed to just disappear like mist. I had taken a full lot position trying to hit my target of 33% profit, but I didn’t anticipate the market trend shift. Unfortunately, this led to a 12% loss of my profits, pushing me over the daily loss limit and resulting in my disqualification just one day before the competition ended.
Despite this setback, I’m pleased that my earlier wrong entries won’t harm my overall reputation. I still secured an 8.23% profit from my allocated fund of $100,000. The rules are the rules, and I have to accept my mistakes. When it comes to leverage, I prefer options like 1:500, 1:800, or 1:400. The 1:100 and 1:10 leverage just don’t work for me — they fall short for scalping and layering strategies. They are more suited for long-term positions, but if you make a wrong entry, it can be too late to reverse the trend, and that can eat up a lot of margin. It would be great if there were a way for traders to adjust their leverage to better match their strategies.

I’ve been trading for more than six years now, and I’ve worked with a number of proprietary trading firms. However, I’ve yet to encounter the frustrating rules and poor execution that I experienced with FTG. Orders simply refuse to execute, and good luck trying to close them when you need to. The buy and sell stop orders often just disappear on their own. Their rules are bewildering at best; it almost seems like they’re deliberately setting you up to fail. For example, if you forget to set a “Stop Loss” on any position, that position gets automatically deleted—talk about adding salt to the wound. Plus, their leverage doesn’t hold up against other firms like SPT or MFF, which offer much better options. If you’re in the market for a dependable prop firm, stick with the established names; don’t be lured in by their one-step evaluation gimmicks.

I’ve found this proprietary trading firm to be quite decent overall. I started by purchasing challenges to assess my trading skills and was thrilled when I finally got funded. Unfortunately, I faced a setback and blew the account shortly after. However, I managed to get funded again, and now I’m seeking a payout. This is where I’ve encountered issues. It’s been five days since I requested my payout, and I still haven’t received anything. FTG promotes itself as providing “hassle-free payouts” that are available on demand, but they’ve let me down in this regard. I truly hope there’s a legitimate reason for the delay and that I get some form of compensation for the stress this situation has caused, especially since I placed my trust in them. If they can’t process my payout soon, I would honestly advise others to reconsider using this prop firm.
